for Lasting Student Success

About Me
My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that all students deserve to feel seen, heard, and supported. I am passionate about creating joyful, intellectually engaging learning experiences that nurture confidence and curiosity. I bring a strong focus on social-emotional learning and differentiated instruction to my work as a private tutor.
A native of Long Island, New York, I grew up with a deep appreciation for the power of education, inspired by my late mother, a dedicated New York City public school teacher for over 40 years.
Watching my mother build meaningful relationships with her students and their families and create joyful classrooms sparked my love of teaching from an early age. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Spanish from Binghamton University (SUNY), I spent three years in Galicia, Spain, teaching English as a Second Language to high school students. This experience deepened my passion for education and cross-cultural connection. I began my career in community-focused non-profits, but later returned to the classroom, earning my teaching credential through the DeLeT (Day School Leadership and Teaching) Program at Hebrew Union College in Los Angeles. Since moving to North Carolina in July 2020, I have been teaching in independent schools, where I have cultivated a deep commitment to supporting students with a wide range of learning styles and needs.
